The concern amongst some of the faithful of Westminster is that the Soho Masses will take over the weekly 6.15pm Mass at Farm Street which isn’t well attended, so if a 100 Soho Masses people turn up it is inevitable that they’ll end up being readers, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, and composers of the bidding prayers, with the encouragement of their Jesuit supporters, such as Fr Brendan Callaghan, former Principal of Heythrop College. . . . → Read More: “The mass isn’t being closed, it’s being moved to the Jesuit Farm Street Church’ – Fr Radcliffe contradicts Archbishop Nichols

The Soho Masses Pastoral Council have announced that they will be known as the ‘Soho Masses’ at Farm Street, and that the Masses at Farm Street will continue to be at the heart of their life in communion, and their pastoral activity. There is one element of the Soho Masses ‘liturgy’ that is very dear to the hearts of the members of the Soho Masses Pastoral Council, and that is their composition of the bidding prayers. This is the one area of the Mass that they had total control of, and through which they could express their Queer ideology. No doubt they will be very concerned to ensure that they will be able to compose the bidding prayers for some of the Masses at Farm Street. It is to be expected that they will bring this up at the meeting with Archbishop Nichols at Farm Street on the 6th January. . . . → Read More: Will the Soho Masses gay agitprop bidding prayers continue at Farm Street?
If the same individuals continue in leadership positions then the promotion of active homosexual life-styles contrary to the teaching of the Church will in all likelihood continue. How will Archbishop Nichols ensure that the ‘Farm Street Pastoral Council’ will be conducted fully in accordance with the teaching of the Church.’ The group formerly known as the Soho Masses Pastoral Council should have been disbanded and leadership of pastoral provision for homosexual persons given to (En) Couarge. This half-measure is better than the previous policy of no action being taken, but the root of the problem has not been dealt with. Nothing will really change until the defiant dissent at the heart of this group is challenged and canonical sanctions imposed. . . . → Read More: Terence Weldon claims Soho Masses merely being transferred to new Westminster parish
That Archbishop Nichols has given his support to EnCourage is very welcome news. The Soho Masses Pastoral Council pointedly ignore the existence of the one support group for faithful Catholics suffering same-sex attraction, so its good to see Archbishop Nichols not only acknowledge the wonderful work done by EnCourage but spend time with these faithful Catholics and their families. A great Christmas present to the Church in England and Wales would be for Archbishop Nichols to announce the disbandment of the Soho Masses Pastoral Council and their replacement by EnCourage London. The history of the Soho Masses for persons with the homosexual condition is the story of a trust betrayed. The Soho Masses Pastoral Council was entrusted with the pastoral care of homosexual Catholics according to the teaching of the Church but they have manifestly and publicly betrayed that trust by promoting dissent from the Church’s doctrine. It is time that the pastoral care of homosexual Catholics is given to others who will respect that trust. . . . → Read More: CDF planning to curb dissent at Soho homosexual Masses
