The Tablet publishes a book review that dismisses and ridicules the early Christian martyrs

A quote from the Divine Office: ‘In the first persecution against the Church, that of the Emperor Nero, after the City of Rome had been burnt in the year 64, many of the faithful suffered death after terrible tortures. Testimony to their deaths is found in the writings of the pagan Tacitus (Annales, 15, 44) as well as in the letter to the Corinthians of Pope Saint Clement (cap.5-6).’ At secular universities where scepticism, doubt and suspicion are fundamental preconceptions it is unsurprising that academics would seek to de-construct the Church’s testimony to the sufferings of the early Christian martyrs. However, scepticism, doubt and suspicion naturally create a stunted, distorted view of history and human behaviour, which we clearly see in this book review. With God and the working of grace excluded a priori, both author and book reviewer are only capable of offering mundane or self-serving motives for the cult of martyrs. Sadly, it is also unsurprising that The Tablet would publish a review of a book that both equally seek to dismiss and ridicule the memory of our early Christian martyrs. This after all is the Tablet’s stock-in-trade now, rubbishing the sacred Traditions of the Catholic Church all in the name of ‘the spirit of Vatican II’. . . . → Read More: The Tablet publishes a book review that dismisses and ridicules the early Christian martyrs

Why are school children not being taught about the involvement of Muslims in the slave trade?

Just as the aggression of Muslims, and their oppression of Christians, has been whitewashed in the revisionist history of the Crusades it appears that school children are being indoctrinated with a PC history of the slave trade that exonerates, by omission, the pivotal involvement of Muslim slavers. This toxic cocktail of the secularists’ PC hatred of their own Christian heritage and Muslim proselytism is a growing threat to the freedom, and existence, of Christianity in this country. . . . → Read More: Why are school children not being taught about the involvement of Muslims in the slave trade?

Gay activists hope pictures of two men ‘marrying’ today will stop million strong protest marches in Paris. Right.

If just the prospect of marriage being turned into a travesty can bring a million people onto the streets of Paris to protect marriage, why do these gay activists think that pictures of marriage being mocked in this way by two men simulating marriage will calm things down? We must pray that all decent people who feel passionately about defending marriage remain committed to peaceful, non-violent protests in the face of this provocation. The politicians, media and groups committed to spreading sexual deviancy would like nothing better than this peaceful movement to be hijacked by violent extremists. The Guardian report shows how the liberal media are attempting to ‘demonise’ the defenders of real marriage as sinister far-right thugs. . . . → Read More: Gay activists hope pictures of two men ‘marrying’ today will stop million strong protest marches in Paris. Enda Kenny talks about being a dad watching his children grow up while planning to kill Irish babies

Enda Kenny’s celebration of the joys of parenthood and the poignant joy of watching children grow up at the very moment that he is planning to legalise the murder of unborn children reveals the moral disconnect that individuals create to enable them to contemplate and then perpetrate great evil. We are all familiar with the accounts during the Holocaust of SS guards committing acts of utter depravity and then going home to play with their children in the garden. To be able to commit evil acts the individual has to strictly compartmentalize the different parts of their life – the depraved evil that they support, facilitate and do and the normal, good life of ordinary people that they share. Many Catholic politicians appear to have perfected this unnatural compartmentalization of their lives into an abominable art. For God’s sake will some bishop challenge this deadly sickness of the soul? . . . → Read More: Enda Kenny talks about being a dad watching his children grow up while planning to kill Irish babies

Abortion, contraception and divorce promoted in Catholic schools through AQA’s GCSE Christianity module

The shocking allegation that some Catholic secondary schools in the Archdiocese of Southwark are opting to use a GCSE Religious Studies programme that positively promotes abortion, contraception and divorce comes on the heels of the equally shocking news that the Archdiocese of Southwark supports Stonewall going into Catholic primary schools. Urgent questions need to be asked of Archbishop Smith and the Education Service – why would Catholic secondary schools reject the Catholic ethics module in favour of a liberal, protestant ethics module? How many Catholic schools are doing this? And a question to the CES – how many Catholic secondary schools in England and Wales are doing likewise? . . . → Read More: Abortion, contraception and divorce promoted in Catholic schools through AQA’s GCSE Christianity module

Catholic Education Service fails to criticise Stonewall going into a Catholic primary school

It is right that Catholic schools deal with all forms of bullying among their pupils, and teachers, including homophobic bullying. But the Catholic Education Service, and Diocesan Education boards, need to be realistic about Stonewall’s real goal, which is to overturn the Church’s doctrine on the depravity of homosexual acts and the disordered nature of homosexual desire. Stonewall is using scare tactics to get access to our schools in order to attack our beliefs. Promises that they will conduct their anti-bullying workshops with respect to Catholic morality are just incredible. . . . → Read More: Catholic Education Service fails to criticise Stonewall going into a Catholic primary school

Pope Francis thinks Benson’s novel ‘Lord of the World’ describes the threat we face from secularist totalitarianism

During this time of great evil in which 1.7 billion babies have been murdered through abortion, a Silent Holocaust that is presented by the media and politicians as a great good, God’s providence has given us a pope who is alive to the reality of the Devil stalking our world and to the smoke of Satan in the Church. Robert Hugh Benson’s novel ‘Lord of the World’ prophetically describes the atheistic secular world that is taking shape around us as we speak. National Lottery officials ask Peter Tatchell about banning grants to Churches he judges ‘homophobic’

Peter Tatchell has just announced the next phase of the militant gay political agenda against Churches that uphold the apostolic doctrine that homosexual acts are depraved, that homosexuality is an intrinsically disordered sexual desire, and that same-sex ‘marriages’are an impossibility. The Catholic Church believes that homosexuality is wrong and therefore according to the UK gay Czar we are condemned as an extremist church that promotes anti-gay bigotry. If Tatchell has his way the Catholic Church will be excluded from receiving National Lottery grants. . . . → Read More: National Lottery officials ask Peter Tatchell about banning grants to Churches he judges ‘homophobic’

Archdiocese of Southwark allegedly blesses Stonewall holding indoctrination workshop at Catholic primary school

A source close to St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Wimbledon, south London, has told The Catholic Herald that the Archdiocese of Southwark has given its blessing to Stonewall holding one of its indoctrination workshops in the school on how to educate children in sexual equality. According to The Catholic Herald ‘The archdiocese was not available for comment.’ The Archdiocese of Southwark’s response to The Catholic Herald that no one was available to comment is hopefully only a holding measure while the Archbishop looks into the truth or otherwise of the allegation that the Archdiocese gave its blessing to Stonewall going into one of his primary schools. Protect the Pope is sure that Archbishop Smith will be as shocked as we are that Miss Crouch, the head of St Mary’s Primary school, allowed a gay rights campaign group to hold indoctrination sessions with her teachers with the objective of teaching Catholic children that disordered sexual behaviour was the same as the love between their mothers and fathers. . . . → Read More: Archdiocese of Southwark allegedly blesses Stonewall holding indoctrination workshop at Catholic primary school

The Tablet insults Pope Emeritus Benedict and threatens Pope Francis

This week’s issue of The Tablet reaches a new low in its two month campaign to mock Pope Emeritus Benedict at every opportunity, but the editor has decided to add a new twist by publishing Fr Hans Kung’s threat to lead a ‘Time of Outrage’ if Pope Francis doesn’t measure up to Kung’s twisted version of Vatican II reforms. In Hans Kung and Tablet speak ‘reform’ is the code word for the secularization of the Church, which includes abandoning the moral doctrines of the Church on divorce, contraception, abortion, homosexuality, and euthanasia. Simply put, The Tablet would like nothing better than to see the Church ditch Humanae Vitae, Dominus Jesus, Homosexualitatis problema, and Ordinatio Sacerdotalis, just to name a few. The Hans Kung article is the first indication that The Tablet realises that under Pope Francis this isn’t going to happen. . . . → Read More: The Tablet insults Pope Emeritus Benedict and threatens Pope Francis
