Independent newspaper website removes vile posts about Pope Benedict

The Independent newspaper official website has removed the deeply offensive comments posted by Ian 1.

Protect the Pope reported yesterday that the Independent website had approved the publication of deeply offensive anti-Catholic comments that not only insulted the Holy Father but also made light of the unimaginable suffering of the victims of child sexual abuse.

Ian 1 made the following comment after the removal of his sick posts:

‘… My comment appeared on the site, then was ‘flagged for review’, now it’s been ‘removed’. Like you say, freedom of speech only goes so far.’

Protect the Pope comment: The Independent website is to be congratulated for removing the foul anti-Catholic comments. However, the question remains, ‘why did the moderator approve them for publication in the first place?
