Dublin’s leading Catholic hospital agrees to kill unborn babies through abortion

The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, owned and managed by the Sisters of Mercy, the Archdiocese of Dublin, the Catholic Nurses’ Guild of Ireland, and the Society of St Vincent de Paul, has issued a statement confirming that Catholic doctors and Catholic nurses will kill unborn babies through abortion. Mater Misericordiae University Hospital is one of the hospitals mandated to kill babies by Catholic Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s abortion act.

The statement says: “The Mater Hospital has carefully considered the Act. The Hospital’s priority is to be at the frontier of compassion, concern and clinical care for all our patients. Having regard to that duty, the Hospital will comply with the law as provided for in the act.”

In August 2013 Protect the Pope reported that ‘Fr Kevin Doran, a board member of Mater Misericordiae hospital Dublin, has told the Irish Times that the hospital ‘cannot comply’with Enda Kenny’s abortion law even though the hospital is named in the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Act  as  one of 25 “appropriate institutions”  where unborn babies may killed.’

Fr Doran, who sits on the board of governors and the board of directors of the Mater, said it was “incumbent on the hospital to consider its position on the Act . . . The Mater can’t carry out abortions because it goes against its ethos. I would be very concerned that the Minister [for Health, James Reilly] sees fit to make it impossible for hospitals to have their own ethos.

“The issue is broader than just abortion. What’s happening is the Minister is saying hospitals are not entitled to have an ethos.”

‘Asked his view of what should happen if the board were to decide it would comply with the legislation, Fr Doran said: “I suppose I can assume there would be very serious discussion between the Archbishop [of Dublin Dr Diarmuid Martin] and the management of the hospital.”’

Protect the Pope comment: The Mater Misericordiae hospital’s shameful statement of compliance with Enda Kenny’s abortion act is one of the most infamous acts of betrayal of the Church in  modern history. This Catholic hospital attempts to justify its co-operation in the murder of innocents with the words, ‘The Hospital’s priority is to be at the frontier of compassion, concern and clinical care for all our patients.’ What about compassion, concern and clinical care for their most vulnerable of patients, unborn babies threatened with abortion? Every Catholic who voted to allow abortions in this Catholic hospital is now in a state of excommunication. We all wait to hear what  Archbishop Diarmuid Martin has to say about this distressing news.

Those most in danger of hell are those who know the truth about God and reject it, willfully.

So now what? Bishops, priests and nuns will be responsible for murdering unborn children and they get to remain bishops priests and nuns. Does this mean that none of us has to go to confession for any sins we may have committed? This is the last straw……is any one going to do anything about this?

Too sick for words. This hospital needs to be divested of it’s Catholic status. And all babies murdered here and in other Irish hospitals need to be photographed and named so that those responsible for their deaths can be held to account.

The Archbishop, so clear in his denunciation of Catholic blogs, needs to open his mouth now in defence of defenceless unborn children.

Change the name from Mater Misericordiae to Enda Kenny abortion enterprises. Don’t expect anything from the current archbishop.

These will obviously be carried out in the newly erected Josef Mengele Wing….with extra beds for the eugenics and euthenasia wards.

I suppose the doctors and nursing staff will have to come here to the UK to gain their”Special Treatment” NVQs with BPAS and Dignitas.

Once again I repeat part of the Garabandal Messages:-

“Many cardinals, many bishops and many priests are on the road to perdition and are taking many souls with them. Less and less importance is being given to the Eucharist”

Could this be referring to our day and age??

As I said on a different post yesterday, the Church’s hospital cannot do this. All responsible for allowing such a statement to issue must be immediately sacked and replaced (and they are automatically excommunicated). The Church must fix this ASAP. If Bishop and Sisters of Mercy refuse to act, they should be immediately disciplined. No Catholic hospital can implement intrinsically evil – and unconstitutional – provisions of the Act, against the absolute prohibition on intentional killing of the innocent. Either the Church controls its hospital or it doesn’t. If it does, it must act immediately to sack those responsible, and retract the statement. If it doesn’t, it needs to say so, and get out of the hospital. We need Catholic hospital – a real Catholic hospital. Will the leaders of the Church, including Archbishop D Martin not do their grave duty, once again? Catholics running the hospital must comply with the natural moral law, and refuse to comply with intrinsically evil, invalid law, or be excommunicated. Church leaders – take control of the Church’s hospital, and sack those responsible for this scandal of unthinkable proportions.

Am I reading correctly? This is unbelievable. If this is true, that hospital’s Catholic name should be taken away. If they comply with committing the act of direct abortion they should have no right to call themselves a Catholic hospital.

    • Yes you are right. The Sisters of Mercy will have alot to answer for as will the Church authorities who stand by and say and do nothing. If the Bishops in Ireland and Fr. Kevin Doran continue to say nothing in the face of the barbaric evil of abortion, it brings more shame and scandal to the whole Church. It is also important to teach that those who call themselves Catholic who participate in an abortion in this or any other hospital can not present themselves for Holy Communion.

    This is monstrous.

Let’s hope the Bishop of Rome himself intervenes as a matter of urgency.

  • [...] Novus Ordo Watch, we find that a Catholic hospital in Ireland has agreed to perform abortions.  May we suggest that Francis speak another 24 words against abortion like he did the day after his [...]
